About the facilitator
Bernadette Schwerdt has been a practicing meditator for 30 years. She trained at the Gawler Foundation (Yarra Valley Living Centre) and at the Kadampa Buddhist Centre. She was the in-house mindfulness coach and meditation programme leader at the Carlton Football AFL Club. In this role, she worked closely with the coaches, club psychologists and high-performance team leaders to develop, launch and facilitate their foundation meditation programme.
She is a professional speaker on the corporate conference circuit, and also works with some of Australia’s top executives as a mindfulness coach to help them reduce anxiety, manage pressure and enhance decision making.
She trained as an actor at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), and has appeared in some of our most iconic TV productions including Neighbours, Jack Irish, Round the Twist, Winners and Losers and more.
She has a degree in business and marketing from the University of South Australia, is an accredited NLP, DiSC, and MBTI (Myers Brigg Type Indicator) facilitator and is a recipient of the Prince Charles Silver Jubilee Award for Outstanding Achievement.
She is a TEDx speaker, the author of two bestselling novels about online entrepreneurship (‘How to Build an Online Business’ and ‘Secrets of Online Entrepreneurs’) and the ghost-writer of Catch of the Decade, a business book documenting the success of the founders behind the billion-dollar start-ups Catch of the Day, Menulog and Scoopon.
